Iran Threatens Israel with Genocide

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatolla Khamenei has laid out the legal and religious justifications for annihilating Israel and killing “all the Jews”. What is most shocking in this is that nobody seems to care. It made no headlines, and barely a ho-hum was heard around the world. How is it possible that when one member nation of the UN threatens another with extinction, there is no outcry, no special commission or emergency meeting to condemn that country?

The idea of destroying Israel is not new. The PLO, Hamas, and Hezbollah charters call for the destruction of the Jewish state. Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has been declaring the necessity to “rid the world of the Zionist entity” for years. But this time, it is different. The real power in Iran lies with the Mullahs, and Khamenei’s statement brought the level of rhetoric to a new and dangerous level.

Khamenei’s doctrine includes destroying Israel’s assets at home and abroad, and the murder of Jewish people worldwide, including here in North America.

According to the Iranian website Alef, Khamenei called Israel a danger to Islam, and claimed that there is “jurisprudential justification to kill all the Jews and annihilate Israel . . . and in that, the Islamic government of Iran must take the helm.”

Never has the message been made clearer. The article, which was written by Iranian analyst and strategist Alireza Forghani, whose position lies firmly in Khamenei’s camp, is now being carried on most state-owned sites, including the Revolutionary Guards’ Fars News Agency. The implication is clear that the Iranian government supports this position.

This is the thesis behind the doctrine:  Because Israel is planning to attack Iran’s nuclear facilities, Iran is justified in launching a massive preemptive attack against Israel.

Never mind that Israel itself has not threatened Iran directly with a preemptive attack. Loose-lipped pundits and politicians from around the globe, who have been theorizing and predicting what Israel would do to stop the creation of a nuclear Iran, have put the small nation in the cross-hairs of Iran’s megalomaniacal leaders. Although Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned against irresponsible “Iran chatter,” US Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta publicly estimated that Israel would attack Iran by June, a comment that may have precipitated this latest crisis.

Iran has taken the bait. In a major speech last Friday, Khamenei announced that Iran will support anyone, whether it is a nation or independent group, which attacks the “cancerous tumor” of Israel. Almost immediately, Pakistan jumped into the fray. A European diplomat stationed in Pakistan, said that if Israel attacks, Islamabad will have no choice but to support any Iranian retaliation. With this statement, the unknown diplomat expanded the theater of conflict and intensified the fear of another world war.

Learning from History     George Santayana wrote the memorable and often repeated line, “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” We, in what used to be known as the “free world”, are now at a crossroads at which we must learn from the history that brought us here, or repeat the deadly failures of the past.

In 1919, Hitler clearly articulated his anti-Semitism:  “The danger posed by Jewry for our people today”, he wrote, “finds expression in the undeniable aversion of wide sections of our people. . . The ultimate objective must, however, be the irrevocable removal of the Jews in general.”

Although Hitler’s objectives were clear from the beginning, the world ignored them and by the time the dust had settled in 1945, the world was exhausted from a world war which had taken the lives of more than fifty million people, including six million Jews, who were murdered in cold blood, the “irrevocable removal of the Jews” as he had written twenty-five years earlier.

The world cannot afford to make the same mistake again. Iran has made its intentions clear. It is now up to the nations of the free world to learn from our own history and take Iran’s message deadly seriously. Such a despicable ideology responds badly to appeasement and uses the time provided by offered ‘negotiations’ to buy weeks and months in which to carry out its own mission. It snickers at the perceived weakness of enemies who want to talk, while fulfilling the Islamic concept of “hudna” as they move their mission forward in secret.

Dr. Mordechai Kedar explained that “any agreement with non-Muslims… is simply a modern version of Hudaybiyya. As such, in accordance with Islamic principles which form the basis of the political culture in the Arab sphere, such a commitment may (or must) be broken at the right time.”

Interminable “discussions” with Iran will not defuse the problem. Sad to say, Iran will respond only to the power of the free world, coming together to stop the lethal, hate-filled menace of Iranian ambition so clearly and unequivocally  stated.

America cannot wait for an election and the possibility of a new Congress and a new resident in the White House, because Iran will not wait. Rather, Iran will move inexorably towards the nuclear domination it seeks, even as its leaders agree to talk.

It does not matter if we believe that they cannot possibly conquer the world and convert the West to Islam, as Ahmadinejad has promised. What matters is that he believes it, and so do the Mullahs, the ultimate authorities in Iran.  So long as they believe that they can prevail, they will try, and that will be enough.

They will attack Israel with all the weapons in their possession, using Hezbollah in Lebanon (whom they have supplied with a hundred thousand rockets and missiles), Hamas in Gaza (whom they have also armed), with the ongoing support of Russia, China, and North Korea. They will also unleash their terrorist agents in the US and throughout Western countries. They will because they can, and because they believe that Allah will enable them to prevail against us.

According to Israeli intelligence, there are now 200,000 rockets and missiles pointed at the heart of its nation, and its population of just over seven million people are the targets. Where is the outrage from the West at Iran’s pompous and hateful promises? How is it possible that one sovereign member nation of the UN can flagrantly threaten another with annihilation without consequences?  Where are the leaders who will stand up to the bullies of Teheran? Where are the allies who will stand by Israel with the strong support that will help the tiny nation survive?

Lest we dismiss this too easily as someone else’s problem, and one halfway around the world at that, it would be good to remember that this is not just Israel’s problem. It is a problem that threatens every one of us, because the war, if it comes, will visit our houses as well as theirs. Just as Germany upended our lives more than seventy years ago, Iran now threatens to do the same.

If we don’t want history to repeat itself, we must learn from it.  America must again assume leadership in the world, this time to stop the Iranian threat before it unleashes a catastrophic war that will engulf the world. This time it may well be the “war to end all wars” because a nuclear holocaust may well destroy life as we know it.

It is five minutes to midnight and we are quickly running out of time.

I believe if Israelis and the Palestinians managed to sign a comprehensive peace treaty between them quickly Iran strategy will be completely neutralized. Iran’s prime aim is to be a power in the Middle East. However Iran is using the cause of Palestinians as a justifications to appease the the Arabs while their prime intent is to be the only power in the region.was

Signing a comprehensive peace treaty would just hasten the demise of Israel via another method. The Palestinian leadership and all the surrounding Arab countries and most of the other Islamic countries all aim for the eradication of Israel as their goal, not peace.

      Stop promoting the big lie.

Although I do no have the answer, I do know this. There are two options.

    1. We band with our allies and physically stop Iran from attacking Israel, and stop Israel from attacking Iran.

    2. Get them to agree not attack each other.

Option 2 would be the best option.

American patriotism has declined in the past several years. However, historically AMERICANS have always rallied in time of attack. The problem with option 1 is that if we attack we will surly start a world war and now we as Americans will be in a total survival mode, to just protect our families. This will make it very difficult to rally as one nation.

Steve brings up a disturbing point.

Were Iran to launch a major attack against Israel — one that did not destroy Israel utterly, yet was big enough to be impossible for the Obama Administration to ignore — then we could expect President Obama to rush to Israel’s defense, at least in part to bolster his own re-election prospects.

Such a tactic might well work, too. Americans are attracted to strength and decisiveness, and such a crisis would give President Obama the opportunity to ‘look Presidential’ just before the election.

One the other side of the globe, the Iranians would almost certainly prefer four more years of President Obama (whose tendency is to appease his enemies and ignore his friends), rather than just about any of his Republican opponents.

In other words, Iran has a vested interest in attacking Israel in the short term, both for its own purposes and to help ensure four more years of the American President they prefer.

Does the Administration know this? Well, if they did, and were cynically going along with such a strategy, they would insist strongly that Israel not attack first. They would reassure Israel to rely on America for protection. And they would be careful not to take any actual steps to physically prevent such an Iranian attack.

Isn’t that precisely what the Obama Administration has been doing?

What they are doing is making themselves a target rich environment with no human shields left. It’s not going to end well for Muslims. And yes I did note that the government official is already talking about a conspiracy. Is it all a conspiracy or does Allah will it?
