Obama Receives Endorsements from Three World Leaders

Hugo Chavez Joins Vladimir Putin in endorsing Obama's second term.

Should Americans be concerned that three of the world’s top dictatorships—also renowned for violating human rights—are endorsing President Obama? The White House probably won’t issue any press releases, but here are the details.

The latest to publicly announce his support for the commander-in-chief’s reelection bid was Venezuela’s Hugo Chavez, who this week assured he’d vote for Obama if he were from the United States. The America-bashing strongman made the announcement on state-owned television, saying “Obama is a good guy” and that if Obama was from Caracas, he’d surely return the favor by voting for Chavez.

The Venezuelan dictator, who has forged a strong alliance with Iran, appreciates that Obama doesn’t consider Venezuela a threat to the interests of the Unites States. This despite illegally shipping U.S. military aircraft to help Iran evade American radar, hosting terrorists from Hezbollah and Colombia’s Revolutionary Armed Forces and helping Iran and Syria evade international sanctions. Chavez is also buying tons of advanced weaponry from Russia and has pulled out of human rights conventions that could call his regime on its many violations.

Oh, and who could forget that Chavez named a former military intelligence officer sanctioned by the U.S. for trafficking drugs as deputy interior minister. In 2008, the U.S. Treasury froze the new minister’s (Hugo Carvajal) assets because he assisted narcotics trafficking by the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia. Chavez named another U.S.-blacklisted official who provided Colombian rebels with weapons and training commander General of the Army.

Earlier in the year the government-official daughter of Cuban military dictator Raul Castro proclaimed her country’s support for Obama during a visit to the U.S. “I believe that Obama needs another opportunity and he needs greater support to move forward with his projects and with his ideas, which I believe come from the bottom of his heart,” Mariela Castro said during a cable news interview. Cuba has for years appeared on the State Department’s list of terrorist sponsoring nations and its communist regime is famous for its atrocious human rights violations. Cuban Dictator Fidel Castro also endorsed Obama (actually an Obama-Clinton ticket) during the 2008 election in a piece published in the island’s communist paper.

That brings us to Russia’s Vladimir Putin, who has eliminated most elections in his country, monopolized all major media and destroyed the political party system. There is no doubt that he’s a dictator, according to a Russian journalist, who says the only reason this is questioned is because western leaders and western media refuse to call him one. Putin has also had his police cronies in Moscow arrest peaceful, legal demonstrators and confiscate, destroy or damage private property.

In a letter to a major newspaper, the president of a group dedicated to expanding freedom around the world points out that under Putin there has been an “across-the-board crackdown on civil society.” The piece goes on to ask: “Will Obama stand up against Putin’s abuses?” Unlikely, now that the Russian dictator has extended his endorsement.

Of course they endorse him. A: they are all Commies. And, B: they know he is super weak, and will bow to them.Duh.

  2. Earl Schultz says:

Three powerful endorsements and three excellent reasons to vote for Romney.

  3. CalDre says:

Neither Chavez nor Putin is a dictator – just because you don’t like someone, or they don’t like you, doesn’t make them a dictator. Almost everything in this editorial is partisan lies / mispresentations. But the funniest has to be the comment that Putin “has eliminated most elections in his country, monopolized all major media and destroyed the political party system”. Haha, what a hoot! By the way, the Russian Duma has more political parties represented than the US Senate or US House or, in its entire history, the US Presidency.

I’m from that part of the world, and if you think that Putin is not a dictator (not even talking about Chavez) or that he has “not” eliminated democratic elections in his country, then you do not understand the reality that is Russia today.

  4. S.S. McDonald says:

Left off this descriptive list are Stalin, Hitler, PolPot, EdiAmin, Mussolini, Mao Zedong, HoChiMinh, Tojo, Judas….all registered Democrats who vote these days.

  5. Barb Fulton says:

For all you Democrats and “undecideds”: What does this tell you about our current Commander in Chief who wins endorsements from multiple dictators (our enemies)?

  6. Mike says:

You can tell a lot about a person by the company they keep. This speaks volumes about Obama.

  7. Rick says:

The choice in this election is simple. Communism (Socialism) or Capitalism. What’s your choice? I cannot understand how any America loving person can vote for Democrats who have become nothing more than modern day Communists.

  8. Ben says:

There is an old saying you will know a person by the company they keep or birds of a feather flock together! We should not exclude The Iranian regime they are pulling for Obama too! These are clues…. how many of these leaders do you think have America’s interests at heart

  9. Time keeper says:

Same philosophy, same goals! Vote for those who will stand up for our country…

I love your comments on Dick Morris’s website. You and I are on the same page on everything so it’s easy to agree with you. But you are also intelligent, not like the liberals who want to upset us with their lies. I hope Dick is correct. I just can’t get the thought out of my mind that Obama will steal this election. I am a devout Catholic and what O is trying to do to our churches, orphanages, t.v. channels with fines for not doing abortions, etc. will probably force a lot of them out of business. I will pray for the election and people like you who get the word out in a very intelligent way. GOD BLESS YOU and keep up the good work.

  12. Clarisa Abate says:

Fidel Castro is a controversial and divisive world figure, lauded as a champion of anti-imperialism, humanitarianism, socialism and environmentalism by his supporters, but viewed as a dictator who has overseen multiple human rights abuses by his critics.
